The property is a 750 square foot log cabin with 200 square foot loft situated on one acre of private land. It is surrounded by Wildhorse State Park and located on the lake shore. There is a queen bed in the bedroom, a queen and twin bed in the log with and a queen sofa in the living room. There are also four additional folding foam pads for children if necessary. Wildhorse Island State Park is a 2200 acre, 900 foot high island on Flathead Lake, Montana. Only this private cabin and approximately 25 others are located on the island. The island is the home of 6 wild horses and approximately 200 Rocky Mountain Big Horn Sheep including a dozen or more are full curl rams. Mule deer, white tailed deer, coyotes, raccoons, eagles, osprey, geese, ducks, and loons are also abundant. Black bears visit the island annually to visit an old orchard. At times, very shy moose has also visited. The wildlife photography and hiking opportunities are nothing short of amazing. Privacy is unparalleled -- one can only see one neighboring cabin. The property is accessible only by boat across a mile-wide strait. If you do not have your own boat, two local businesses rent outboards on a weekly basis and a shoreline enterprise will provide you with a water taxi at $40/round trip. The cabin has a full dock and a shore station for mooring. Wildhorse Island (lots of information available on the INTERNET) is a state primitive area. There are very limited improved trails and no wheeled vehicles are allowed off the lot. The cabin is off-grid, but has many amenities including a full bathroom with conventional plumbing, a fully equipped kitchen, gas grill, hot and cold running water, refrigerator, gas range, stereo, and conventional electrical lighting. Electricity is supplied via batteries charged by a solar panel and an electric-start, back-up generator. The stove, refrigerator and hot-water heater are fueled by propane. A highly efficient wood stove provides heat if necessary. There is a television for video viewing and, for an additional cost, DISH network and can be linked up . Cell and radio reception are excellent. The technology is installed to preserve the character of a rustic cabin. Oil lamps and candles are available when weary of technology. The learning curve for staying at the cabin is a bit steeper than it might be for a mainland property, but still surprisingly short. Owner will provide written instructions and will be available by phone if questions arise. For first-timers, owner can usually be on-hand for your arrival to show you the ropes. In short, the cabin is very user friendly. The cabin has horseshoe pits, an archery lane for long bows, two 17' tandem canoes, water toys, masks and snorkels and an abundance of rainy-day board games, DVD's and a small library. Flathead Lake is the largest natural fresh-water lake west of the Mississippi River. The water quality is pristine. Wind conditions are consistently good for sailing and sailboarding. The lake is bordered by the snow-capped Mission Mountains. Dogs are welcome, but government regulations prohibit dogs off the one-acre lot. This custom home features 3 Bedrooms plus a sleeping loft, 2 baths and a rec room with plenty of parking. You will enjoy your time on beautiful Flathead Lake with your family in this 2600 square foot home located on 100 feet of Flathead Lake frontage between Big Arm and Elmo. On the main floor, there is an open floor plan with a kitchen, dining, fireplace and living room with large floor to ceiling glass windows overlooking Flathead Lake. The dining room has a table that seats 6 and there is a bar that seats 3 people. Large sliding doors take you outside to the deck where you will be able to BBQ, relax and enjoy the view and beautiful summer weather. The master bedroom, one bathroom and large laundry room complete the main floor. Up a staircase in your loft, you will find it nicely appointed with two sleeper chairs that make into twin beds plus a fold out couch. Downstairs there is another family room with seating, a fireplace, flat screen TV, DVD player and room for little ones to play, and two bedrooms and a bath complete the lower level. There are sliding glass doors that walk out onto a second deck on the lower level. The master bedroom contains a king bed and joins the bathroom on the main floor. The two bedrooms in the lower level are queen bedrooms, the loft includes a queen sleeper sofa, and two chairs that each make into twin beds. Your family can play on the beach down at the water’s edge, make yummy S'mores in the fire pit located down by the water, enjoy sunbathing on the floating dock, and experience water activities on a paddleboat, kayaks and stand up paddleboards, which are included for your convenience. As long as the water is calm, you can tie up your boat to the floating dock, but if there are any waves, we ask you to tie your boat to the buoy out in the water. The kitchen is fully appointed with a BBQ grill on the deck, beach towels, fresh towels and linens complement your stay. We are situated on a lovely lane that connects to Big Arm State park, which you can walk down each morning before you start your day of fun water and sun activities. Polson is a short 15 mile drive from our house, where you can find shopping, a movie theater and many activities throughout the summer. Big Fork is 39 miles away where you can enjoy a play at the renowned Big Fork Summer Playhouse and many fine restaurants. Kalispell International airport is approximately 46 miles away and the train station in Whitefish is 53 miles away. Glacier Park is only a 72 mile drive, which can easily be made into a day trip during your stay if you choose to visit one the prettiest national parks in the United States.

This property is beautiful. It has panoramic views of Flathead Lake, Wild Horse Island, Chief Cliff and the Mission Mountains. The home features an oversized master bedroom with a king sized bed, walk in closet and personal bathroom. The guest bedroom has a trundle bed (a twin day bed with a pull out second twin underneath), and adjoins the main bathroom on the first floor. The loft is outfitted with another king sized bed, plus a fold down couch, tv, office and the third full bathroom, plus a deck overlooking the lake. There is a large deck wrapping around the front of the home, facing the lake, with awnings and railings. Pavers line the patio area which features a pergola - perfect for dining outside on beautiful afternoons and evenings. The property encompasses a garden, several fruit trees, ponderosa, scotch and lodge pole pine, blue spruce and juniper trees, and is easily accessed right off of highway 93 in Big Arm. There is a restaurant within walking distance (2 minutes) right next to the property. Wild Horse Island is just offshore, right in the middle of Big Arm Bay on Flathead Lake.

Private lake frontage [225 feet] with beautiful, newly constructed cabin and bunkhouse [2014] with waterfront fire pit and new dock. The main cabin has a double sofa pullout bed on the main floor accompanied by double bunk beds in the loft that are double beds on bottom and single beds on top. Also on the main floor is a 50 inch flat screen tv with DirecTV and dvd player accompanied by a full kitchen with small kitchen table and window air conditioner along with a full bathroom. The living room leads out to a wonderful large deck through a set of french doors overlooking the lake and the Mission mountains. The second smaller cabin [bunkhouse] has two additional sets of bunk beds, all of which are doubles. The bunkhouse also has a 40 inch flatscreen tv with dvd player and it's own air conditioner and a set of french doors leading out to a nice deck overlooking the lake. There is also a brand new master suite cabin that has a king bed and it's own master bath. It has air conditioning and a 40 inch tv as well. In front of the main cabin is a very large deck that sits out over the lake with a pergola, b-b-q, and comfortable seating area with a propane fire pit. There is an additional out building above the cabin that has a washer/dryer, spare refrigerator, toilet and an outdoor shower. Extra items on the property include a trampoline, hammock by the water and a basketball hoop in the driveway. The property is very private on a large lot within 5-10 minutes of the closest restaurants and 20 minutes to shopping in nearby Polson and Lakeside and exactly 17 miles in either direction from the cabin. We are located 90 minutes north of Missoula or 35 minutes south of Kalispel which have the closest airports.

The windows offer breathtaking views up the entire length of Flathead Lake to the peaks of Glacier Park. Snuggled in by tall pines and the fruitful valley of the 'Famous Flathead Cherry Trees,' this bungalow allows you to feel completely free of stress from the busy world around us. The Bungalow dates back to the 1940's and includes updates performed over the years, including a fun 'retro cabin' interior decor. Although the Bungalow is seasonal, guests are able to catch the early bright colors of Spring through to the bright ray of reds of Fall. The smoke-free bungalow offers many amenities including beach chairs, Gas Barbeque and picnic area. Sit back and relax - this house is completely controlled by a SmartPad. After a long day enjoying all that the area and the property has to offer. For example retire to the Master Suite of the main house. In the summer, before you jump into your very cozy king bed, open the copper clad accordion doors to the private screened-in porch to feel the cool breezes and listen to the sounds coming off the lake. In addition to the cabin there is a bunk house with a queen bed. The bunk house has electricity but no bathroom facilities and is located approximately 100 yards from the main cabin. The living room has a single hide-a-bed. Also, there is a cot and sleeping pad. If you have a larger group, camper trailers and tents are welcome.

This cabin sleeps six comfortably in beds, with plenty of room for sleeping bags in the living room if need be. Roast hotdogs or s'mores in the fire pit while watching the sun set on the lake. An on site washer/dryer will ensure that you do not spend your vacation at a laundry mat! There is a propane bbq for guest use on the custom deck overlooking the lake. Guests can enjoy sitting on the dock while watching the eagles soar and fish. While away the day suntanning, swimming, and playing on the gravel beach or grassy lawn. Hike along Rocky Point or one of the numerous hiking trails in the Mission Mountains, or visit Kerr Dam on the Flathead River.
